Malvern, PA, September 18, 2014 - Ricoh Americas Corporation and EFI™ today announced that the two companies have been awarded Digital Press System Certification from IDEAlliance® for the RICOH Pro C5100s/C5110s, driven by EFI’s Fiery E-22B and E-42B digital front ends (DFEs).
IDEAlliance Digital Press System Certification verifies a system’s ability to meet or exceed established industry expectations for excellence.
IDEAlliance, a leading industry association for print and digital media, certifies the capabilities of commercial production xerographic and inkjet devices to meet GRACoL® specifications and other specific print standards. The Digital Press System program evaluates the entire press system, including the digital front end, print engine, and paper for testing and certification in areas of color, print properties, and print production.
“Our independent verification lab meticulously evaluated the testing results of the RICOH Pro C5100s/C5110s driven by EFI’s Fiery E-22B and E-42B digital front ends. It delivered results that met the criteria for our rigorous certification process,” said Steve Bonoff, Executive Vice President of IDEAlliance. “The IDEAlliance certification is more than a seal of approval. It shows potential customers that this system has what it takes to deliver on not just industry standards, but to deliver excellence.”
Ideal for helping businesses launch their first production print programs, the RICOH Pro C5100s/C5110s blend application flexibility, high productivity and cost-effectiveness in a compact footprint. In addition, the devices feature a new toner formulation that increases the printable color gamut by 10 percent compared to Ricoh's other color production printers and have a lower fusing temperature, which allows for faster warm-up times and lower energy consumption.
The two EFI Fiery digital front ends that drive RICOH Pro C5100s/C5110s deliver consistent and accurate color, and offer workflow optimization features to users in office, in-plant and print-for-pay production environments. The embedded Fiery E-22B is powered by the Fiery FS100 platform and provides the essential feature set to enable users to print complex and color-critical documents accurately and quickly. The external Fiery E-42B runs on the FS100 Pro platform and brings even more robust functionality for advanced color management and workflow automation capabilities.
Ricoh has achieved this industry honor across its award-winning production print portfolio, with the RICOH Pro C901/C901s, RICOH Pro C751/C751EX/C651EX and the RICOH Pro C901 Graphic Arts +/Pro C901s Graphic Arts + all receiving the certification using EFI Fiery DFEs. With the addition of the RICOH Pro C5100s/C5110s, Ricoh continues to meet and exceed industry standards.
“Based on our track record, the IDEAlliance certification seal is what our production print customers have come to expect – and we continue to deliver time and time again,” said Tim Vellek, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “The RICOH Pro C5110s with Fiery technology is an affordable, versatile and highly productivity system for in-plants and Print Service Providers who are looking to increase their color quality. This certification from IDEAlliance validates our vision and we’re thrilled to share the news with our customers.”
“EFI constantly strives to enhance performance, quality and ease of use with advanced Fiery offerings that complement innovative print technologies from leading manufacturers like Ricoh,” said John Henze, Vice President, Fiery marketing, EFI. “The certifications Ricoh and EFI have are helping to drive digital printing forward by giving users the confidence of uncompromising quality and efficiency in production workflows.”
