Digital Imaging System Provides Advanced Capabilities for Maximum Efficiency


West Caldwell, N.J., September 24, 2007 – Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today introduced the Aficio® MP 2500SPF Digital Imaging System. Designed for small departments, workgroups and independent businesses, the Aficio MP 2500SPF incorporates multifunction capabilities including copying, printing, scanning, faxing, and security, all into one compact system.

In Ricoh’s continuous efforts to make its monochrome product line-up stronger and more versatile, the Aficio MP 2500SPF builds upon the best features of two existing products – adopting the simpler, compact and affordable engine and controller of the Aficio
MP 2000 and the faster speed and advanced finishing capabilities of the Aficio MP 2510. With all of these features combined into one, the new system allows for more efficient, effective and less-costly document management.

With copy and print speeds of 25 pages per minute (ppm) and 600 dpi resolution, the Aficio MP 2500SPF allows users to work not only faster, but smarter. Handling time is minimized with the 50-sheet Automatic Reversing Document Feeder and printing or copying two-sided documents with the stackless duplexing capability can save paper and shelf space. With a potential paper supply of 2,100-sheets, large jobs can be kept running with minimum intervention.

The Aficio MP 2500SPF goes well beyond copying and printing functionality with its advanced networking capabilities. Accepting data from Windows, Macintosh, Novell and Linux network operating systems, the Aficio MP 2500SPF can output documents with standard PCL5e/6 print drivers or optional genuine AdobeÒ PostScriptÒ 3Ô. PDFs can be printed quickly without opening an application and slowing down the network when the PDF Direct Print feature is utilized. In addition, Ricoh’s icon-based Refined Print Command Stream (RPCS) Driver lets users simplify job settings, so even the most complex documents can be handled with one click of the mouse.

Managing and distributing documents is quick and easy with user-friendly features such as Scan-to-Email/Folder and DeskTopBinder. Multiple users are able to access a single document at their convenience with Scan-to-Folder and documents created using different applications can be stored into one file with a single set of attributes with DeskTopBinder V5 Lite. In addition to managing and distributing documents, the
MP 2500SPF also protects proprietary and confidential data with advanced security features such as Wi-Fi Protect Access and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) support, which scrambles data and passwords as they travel over the network.

The Aficio MP 2500 model is available for users that require a stand-alone copier and prefer to upgrade at a later date. Various connectivity kits can be added to the Aficio
MP 2500 based on customers’ current or future business needs. The Printer Enhance DDST Kit provides a low-cost solution for users requiring networked PCL Emulation printing and TWAIN scanning. The Printer/Scanner Kit includes Ricoh’s Next Generation Architecture Controller and features PCL & RPCS printing as well as Scan-to-Email/Folder capabilities, Device Monitoring and the latest security features. The All-in-One-Kit includes the same features as the Printer/Scanner Kit, with the addition of Advanced (IP, Internet, and LAN) Faxing.

The suggested retail price for the Aficio MP 2500 is $3,200.00 and the Aficio
