Question: I’ve been experiencing light, spotted background on several of these machines. Seems like sometimes the drum clears it up, sometimes it’s the charge roller or the charge roller cleaning roller. Also the waste toner is getting full really fast. Any ideas would be helpful.
Answer: Pretty common for these. The developer is rated 300-360k. I've been finding some accounts go 80-100k. The dev gets the dust and paper dust in it and spits it out on the paper. The other problem might be that the toner return area was not covered during developer initialization. Another thing might be that the paper dust filtering screen in the developer assembly opening is plugged and needs to get cleaned
Answer: Check the mag roller real good. These machines seem to develop a film on the roller and do not hold the developer well. You may even have to use a Scotchbrite pad to remove the film.
Answer: The devo doctor gap was changed on these in the later production to combat this problem. Also, we set ours at .037.
