Hawthorne, NY (PRWEB) December 17, 2013

Xand, the Northeast’s premier provider of colocation, cloud, disaster recovery, and managed services, announced today that Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI), the state’s largest health insurer, has entrusted Xand with its mission-critical infrastructure for production and disaster recovery in a multi-year, multimillion dollar agreement.

“Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island is excited to announce the selection of Xand for data center, managed services, and business continuity services. Xand’s responsiveness, flexibility, and consultative approach made them the ideal choice to help manage the critical IT applications and resources that back our 600,000 members,” said Steven Mollo, BCBSRI Managing Director of Information Systems Operations.

Xand Sales and Engineering teams worked closely with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island to architect a highly-customized environment for the insurer. The solution crafted for BCBSRI includes delivering dedicated colocation out of Xand’s high-density data center in Massachusetts, system monitoring and management to the application level backed by its 24x7 Network Operations Center, and business continuity consulting utilizing physical and Cloud-based disaster recovery techniques.

“From their data center operations to the capabilities of their Cloud and disaster recovery platforms, Xand quickly became the leading candidate in our search for a holistic solutions provider,” Mr. Mollo said. “Having experienced the lack of responsiveness at national providers, Xand’s consultative, personable customer service stood out from our first meeting and made a tremendous impression on our decision making process. At Xand, we feel like we’re more than a number.”

Xand also leveraged its strong network of partners to deliver additional layers of recovery, redundancy, and continuity outside of the Northeast region for BCBSRI, providing the ultimate in resiliency for the insurer’s mission-critical applications and vital data. Overall, the combination of colocation, cloud, disaster recovery, and managed solutions offered by Xand solved BCBSRI’s multifaceted IT infrastructure challenges and provided scalability for the organization’s future growth.

“Having Rhode Island’s largest insurer place their trust in Xand for critical resource management is truly an honor,” said Xand President and CEO Yatish Mishra. “We take pride in being able to design and deploy technology platforms on a scale required by large operations like Blue Cross & Blue Shield, while also maintaining our ability to deliver the highest levels of personalized service and organizational responsiveness in the industry. On behalf of the Xand team, we look forward to working with BCBSRI to ensure the best quality of service for their workforce and members in the years ahead.”
