In mid-2005, Ricoh introduced the first phase of the @Remote Intelligent Remote Management System to help you and your customers simplify the tasks associated with monitoring and managing connected printing devices.
We are now pleased to announce the availability of the service features for the @Remote Intelligent Remote Management System. With the addition of Remote Firmware Upgrade and Automated Service and Toner Alerts, @Remote is now a complete Device Management system that will change the definition of “service” as our industry knows it today. These new features are available for newer Ricoh devices when managed by an @Remote appliance, as well as Ricoh devices that include embedded @Remote as a standard feature.
Simply put, this intelligent remote device management system gives you the ability to further differentiate your service from that of your competitors. In addition to the ability to automate meter reading, @Remote now makes it possible for the networked device itself to notify your sales company via email when it recognizes that it has a critical service event or persistent jamming condition. The notification will include a time and date stamp along with the relevant recent service history. The same device is also able to recognize and send an alert to you, when it reaches a low-toner or toner-out state. Imagine the benefits that these features will have for your service and aftermarket/operations groups! The Remote Firmware upgrade feature now makes it possible for your service department to schedule firmware upgrades for many devices in a single operation, eliminating the need to wait until the next visit to the customer’s site.
