Can you please help me with something?  I sold a Konica Minolta bizhub c224e color copier to a restaurant and he’s trying to print out his to-go menu tri-folded on 8.5x11 paper full bleed but as you know they never print to the true full edge.  If the guy needs true full edge to edge is the solution to go up a size in paper and then cut?  If so, what size would you recommend and what would you use to trim/cut?

The customer wants to know if there is there a better product or a different product that can print 8.5 x 11 full bleed true edge to edge without cutting?

The frustrating part is he is now going back and using his $300 Epson color printer from Office Max (ink) and printing full edge to edge and then running these through the booklet maker on the Konica Minolta to tri-fold.

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.  Customer seems to be having buyers remorse.

My suggestion would be to print 2-UP on 12 x 18 paper and then trim/cut and then run through the booklet maker to tri-fold to avoid manual folding.  I'm pretty sure there isn't a setting that can be adjusted to make the C224e print edge to edge as I'm of the understanding that this would cause jamming.

Thanks,

Rick

As far as I know there is no option to make it print full bleed!  Sharp just came out with a production unit that will due full bleed on 11x17 and I think letter.

You're in a tough spot....You can always recommend the new Memjet 6030 ( I think), I saw it do full bleed and when using inkjet stock it's impressive.

Any other ides?

The best bet, in order to maximize his return on the investment he made in the system, is to print 2-up on 12 x 18 and cut.  If Inkjet quality is acceptable, the Memjet would be a solid & affordable option.  It's speed is quite impressive, but based on what I've seen, the print quality still doesn't stack up to laser, regardless of the paper stock.
