Streamlined Workflow Helps Improve Operations and Customer Satisfaction

(Konica Minolta) today announced that Queens College, a part of the City University of New York network, has implemented Konica Minolta Production Print technologies and EFI Digital StoreFront to create a world class in-plant graphics department.With exceptional color prints and an easy to use online job submission process, the in-plant print department has increased its business and reduced Queen College’s need for outsourced printing.
After experiencing a devastating flood, the Queens College in-plant department had an opportunity to redesign the layout and workflow for its print shop as well as evaluate new digital production print equipment that was better suited for its growing needs.With the help of Konica Minolta’s experienced sales team, Queens College was able to design a new functional layout for its print shop that streamlined workflows and dramatically improved overall operations.It also implemented two Konica Minolta bizhub PRO monochrome digital presses and two Konica Minolta bizhub PRO color digital presses growing its monthly color impressions by 300 percent and its black and white impressions by 700 percent.

Queens College implementation of EFI Digital StoreFront provides a Web interface for the intake of documents and streamlines the workflow process for the in-plant department from submission through the print production environment, to finishing and delivery. The system allows the Queens College print shop sales manager and operators to have more information about each job request and interact with customers more productively.Digital StoreFront also provides reporting capabilities to better track print jobs and performance.
