Well I've used eCopy Desktop's Markup feature to do just that to PDF files, especially brochures, White Papers etc. where I want to highlight an area for a prospect to seriously consider - if thats what you mean. You should be able to get a "NOT FOR RESALE" copy for your business use.

I'm not sure that ecopy will do the "spot color" unless you erase/delete existing tect and then replace with your own.

we are thinking of using EFI's hot folders and freeform, kinda of like an overlay, but i am not sure if the text is in the same location on every print.

pitney bowes says they have a software and a 125ppm inkjet printer - does anyone know of a 125ppm inkjet that pitney is offering?

Pitney, long the leader in Mailing systems has some fast ink-jet printers designed to print addresses and USPS req'd bar codes along with limited color graphics so this could be their answer for a mailing app. I have no knowledge of a spot color device that could add to a .pdf fole tho. A more clearly described need thaty your customer has would help - if it's addresses and spot color graphics on pieces to be mailed take a look at this link: http://pitneyworks.com/g/#addressing.

ok, so i got a suggestion to use Doculex. anyone use Doculex before?

We have one installation of doculex

Go to www.graphicwizard.com and you will see what they have. This can marry-up to the exit end of any output device. I have sold them to attach to Riso's.
