Possible future savings on a copier, the election of a new board president and the addition of a new piece of artwork all took place during Wednesday night’s Crawfordsville Park and Recreation meeting.

Brad Case came to the meeting to talk about a possible new lease for a copier which could end up saving the department about $1,200 a year during the next five years.

Case told the board he wanted to help out with the budget crisis and came with a proposal to help the department end its current lease, get a new copier and add a second copier which would replace an outdated one and all for a savings of approximately $40 to $50 a year. In addition an older outdated copier would be replaced and that would save approximately $600 a year said Park Director Roger Neal.

The new copier would be geared more toward the department’s needs, which is almost totally black and white reproductions. One of the two new copiers would have color capabilities for those few color copies needed each month.

The board approved the move and asked Case to bring a contract to the March meeting to be signed.
