(WDRB) -- Two people were arrested early Saturday morning after police say they found several fake money orders -- and some interesting supplies -- inside a Louisville hotel room.
It happened just before 3:30 a.m. at the Economy Inn on Bardstown Road, near Goldsmith Lane.
Police say 34-year-old Anthony James Hewitt and 31-year-old Loni Schwaniger were in one of the hotel rooms when security decided to evict them. According to the arrest report, the pair refused to open the hotel room door, despite multiple requests from hotel staff. Hotel security had to use bolt cutters to get into the room, according to the arrest reports.
Once officers and security were inside, police say Hewitt "began to be aggressive" and stated "he wasn't leaving." Then he allegedly put his hands behind his back.
Police say they didn't know if he had a weapon, and they quickly had to handcuff him.
While there, police say they found a clear baggie containing an unidentified white powder.
They also allegedly found nine post office money orders, at least four of which had been "altered with some sort of white-out." Additionally, police say they found a copier, a box of cotton paper, a paint tray, mineral spirits, blue white-out tape, gold foil seals, a paper cutter and paper with a blue border (similar to bond paper.)
Both Hewitt and Schwaniger face multiple forgery charges. Hewitt also faces drug charges, according to arrest reports.
