Plotbase PDF Scanning makes huge file

Yes & No. Correct that it is a known situation, due to the bit depth level (better grey scale PDF)on the Ricoh scan to PDF. There is the POSSIBILITY that a future PB version may offer both grey scale and line quality PDF creation (smaller PDF file size) as a user choice, so no plans to fix in the current version, from what I understand.

Ok, I see the "yes" part of your post, but where is the "no"? You said no plans to fix it in current version.

As far as the "possibility" that it "may" be fixed in a future version... well, you could say that about any feature in the world right?

When I spoke directly to Ratio Software engineers in Germany, they told me "no plans to fix this". I think I'll go with that.

By the way, we saved the deal by implementing a solution with Trix Raster Server http://www.trixsystems.com/rserver.html whereby the customer scans the TIFF to their network, RasterServer is looking in the hotfolder it is scanned to and by the time the user gets to their desk, the TIFF is gone and there is a PDF in its place.

Lots of time and effort and additional cost, but it works.
