Today was horrid for calls, not me making them but calls coming on on my cell phone. I must have had 25 soliciting calls with most of them being robo calls.
I feel and obligation to answer those calls especially when most of them are coming from local area code. As soon as I pick up I an hear the "beep", I then disconnect and do the block call.
I had one call that was AI and it sounded like a real person. I was asked how old I am and I answered with "old enough" and I guess AI was not prepared for that number and AI stalled to answer. Of course I hung up and blocked the call.
In the last two weeks I've seen the call rate rise to 20-30 calls a day. It's no wonder that people don't answer calls today and I feel this is affecting all of us that make cold calls. Looks like the basics are still best and to get out in the field to go belly to belly. In this cold weather? It's not something I'm looking forward to.
