Designing a digital document in PaperlessForms begins with an empty canvas on which to apply various field types, including e-signature fields and table fields. One of the most unique features of the tool is its use of formatted paragraphs where text is typed directly on the canvas, and fields can be embedded anywhere in the text. "On top of having direct paragraph editing functionality, which is a huge advantage with contracts and agreements, you have a more robust set of field types and controls than you typically see in a form tool," says Hayes. The paragraph function also allows you to copy and paste your text from other documents.

PaperlessForms allows you to create multi-part digital forms where internal fields can be populated as the form is being sent to the recipient, or after it is returned. Making edits to forms, on the fly, is also much easier in PaperlessForms because writing directly on the form canvas avoids the need to upload a new template for each revision. Forms and documents in PaperlessForms can be sent to recipients via email or text message, as well being embedded within website pages, for use as contact forms, registration pages, or surveys.

PaperlessForms supports team collaboration, without the need to continuously sync data or require every team member to install software. Use of the tool has grown rapidly, as small and medium businesses look for ways to simplify processes with cloud-based tools.
