Low and behold, Ricoh has just released a PANTONE Color Palette for the Aficio 3228C/3235C/3245C and Aficio 3260/5560(with Ricoh Controller) systems. Included are color look up tables for the following applicaitons: Adobe Illustrator 9,10, CS & CS2; Adobe Photoshop 6,7, CS & CS2; Adobe InDesign 2.02, CS & CS2; Macromedia FreeHand 10 & MX; CorelDRAW 10, 11 & 12 & Corel DESIGNER 10 & 12; QuarkXPress Version 4.11, 5 & 6. Basically PANTONE has devised a color library to support our output devices along with these specific applications.

So your application does not support PANTONE, well you are in luck, there are also CMYK values for all 1,137 colors included as well. But the fun does not stop there, also included are EPS, TIFF & PDF charts which will support presentation or drawing programs not listed.

Suffice to say, we now have a built in "Color Matching" program for our B2C systems. First you must download the PANTONE Color Palette, just like you would a driver and then "unzip" that downloaded file and save to a folder on your hard drive. Then you can import those colors into one of the supported applications, for example, I have Quark XPress and have imported those colors into my application. Then when I want to use one of those colors, I just use the color selection tool built into Quark, and import the Ricoh/PANTONE color.
