OKI Data and Agiliant signed a platform development agreement that will allow Business Technology Association (BTA) dealers to offer end-to-end, integrated managed network services (MNS) and managed print services (MPS) solutions to customers. The new solutions, according to company executives, provide dealers with the opportunity to sell additional office equipment, leases and services.
For Agiliant, the alliance moves the traditionally managed services company further into the managed print and document arena. The Kirland, Wash.-based company introduced its first three managed document products – visibilIT, vitalIT and manageabilIT – in early November 2011. A short time later, Agiliant launched MITOS (Managed Information Technology and Output Services) as a “carefully architected and managed fusion of two conventionally separate business offerings.”
The platform development agreement through which Agiliant’s MITOS offering will incorporate OKI’s proprietary Total Managed Print (TMP) solution will be offered through the Agiliant Affiliate Network (AAN) within the BTA dealer channel.
Agiliant will incorporate key aspects of OKI’s TMP Portal into its business processes to standardize asset and life cycle management, sales, and delivery components. In addition, OKI’s portfolio of printing solutions will be offered as a preferred printer brand within Agiliant’s MITOS solution suite throughout the AAN.
The two primary components of the alliance provide dealers in the AAN with a standardized product suite and technology platform that streamlines operations, shortens sales cycles and automates many of the integration requirements for building and delivering managed services, say executives of both companies.
In a statement, Gary Stevens, CEO of Agiliant, said product standardization is a important initiative for Agiliant, and OKI’s expertise within the MPS arena makes it an exceptional fit as a foundational product and strategic partner.
