RICOH RECIEVES U.S. ARMY VENDOR APPRECIATION AWARD
Award Marks First Time Fort Hood Honors a Vendor for its Services
West Caldwell, NJ, February 16, 2005 – Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that it has received a Certificate of Appreciation by the United States Army Garrison Command. This award was presented to Ricoh for its exceptional copier service and outstanding support to Fort Hood during rapid Iraq deployments and constant unit movements throughout the installation in support of the war effort.
Fort Hood, located in Fort Hood, Texas, is home to the 1st Cavalry Division and 4th Infantry Division. In 2000, Ricoh began supplying this military base with document management products and services through its contract with the U.S. Department of Treasury FedSource, Ricoh’s largest customer. To win the business, Ricoh developed a tailored program encompassing advanced digital technology solutions that met the unique needs of Fort Hood. Today, Ricoh is responsible for 675 units of equipment, consisting of Multifunction Products (MFPs), which service the more than 60,000 troops stationed at Fort Hood.
“Ricoh and IKON have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty in its support of the mission at Fort Hood,” said Commanding Officer Victoria Bruzese. “Its resourcefulness and devotion to the United States Army reflects great credit of the organization, and the U.S. Army looks forward to continuing our work with these exemplary service providers.”
Working with the IKON office in Temple, Texas, Ricoh has been able to deliver customized programs, seamless installations and top of the line on-site support and maintenance service to the Fort Hood military base. In addition, Ricoh has ensured a secure flow of critical information, which is a major concern for any government agency as volume capacity and reliability demands regarding security are intense.
“Ricoh is honored to be selected as the first recipient of this distinguished award. It means a great deal to all those involved that our commitment to provide exceptional service is held in such high regard,” said Tom Salierno, President, Ricoh U.S., Ricoh Corporation. “Ricoh is extremely proud to play a pivotal role in the successful deployment of Fort Hood units and we strive to continue on this path.”
