Printer maker Océ is scrapping 300 of the 2,400 jobs at its headquarters in Venlo, trade union FNV Bondgenoten said on Tuesday.

Of the lost jobs, 200 are full-time and 100 are agency support staff.

The reorganisation at Océ is not unexpected, according to the union's Ron van Baden. 'Last year they made a loss, and they are busy positioning themselves as a division of Canon,' he told the press.

Océ was taken over by the Japanese Canon in 2009. The company confirmed the job losses but would not comment further.
