TRUMBULL, Conn., Jan 10, 2011

Oce, an international leader in digital document management, today announced that Oce North America Document Printing Systems has begun selling the Canon Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series of color multifunctional printers. These models, which are ideal for workgroups, branch offices and small businesses, as well as large enterprises with areas in need of a smaller device, provide a reliable, low-maintenance solution for users whether they are looking for a compact color device or need to consolidate multiple units into one MFP.

The Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series is available in two versions-- a "base" model and an "iF" model. The "base" model includes many standard features that enterprise customers require, while the "iF" model comes bundled with PCL 5c/6 print and fax capabilities.

"Regardless of their business size, these models give our customers a compact color product with advanced technologies," said John Reilly, President, Oce North America, Document Printing Systems. "Rather than choose between a small single-function printer and a large MFP with extra features they don't need, these color MFPs give users working in smaller environments the features they need in a configuration that can grow with their business."

The Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series of MFPs, which feature superb image quality in a compact design, is a great fit for small offices, front desks, remote locations and groups of corporate users, as they easily fit on a desktop or in a centralized area with an additional cassette or cabinet. Based on the imageCHIP LITE platform, they provide excellent performance in handling concurrent print, copy, scan, fax and send jobs.

"We are excited about the addition of Canon's imageRUNNER C1030 Series being offered along with Oce's lineup," said Sam Yoshida, Vice President and General Manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "This series offers corporate environments a streamlined workflow, combining exceptional speeds and excellent durability in a compact design."

With a 3.5" tiltable color LCD, ample RAM, built-in Ethernet, multiple memory media ports (i.e., dual USB ports, an SD card port and a CompactFlash card port) the Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series of MFPs provides greater usability and productivity. In addition, support for Canon's UFR II LT print language comes standard on each model, while the Color imageRUNNER C1030iF features standard support for PCL 5c/6 software. Adobe(R) PostScript(R) 3(TM) (emulated) print capability is available as an option on both systems.

For even greater productivity, the Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series of devices enables users to transform paper-intensive projects into electronic workflows. Users can convert hard copies to electronic files in color or black & white with the models' 50-sheet document feeder and then electronically distribute them to email, fax, I-fax, SMB and FTP destinations. In addition, an ID card copy feature streamlines the production of double-sided cards by automatically printing each side two-up on a single page. Finally, with on-board faxing (standard on "iF" models), users can consolidate their fax needs with printing, copying and scanning technology to save space and operating costs and receive electronic faxes through their imageRUNNER MFP.

The Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series of MFPs offers enhanced document and device management with the integrated Remote User Interface web-based tool, which provides users and administrators with secure access to their devices through a standard web browser. Furthermore, large numbers of imageRUNNER products can be managed via the no-cost imageWARE Enterprise Management Console, which supports multiple MFP models for more efficient IT operation. In addition, Canon's consistent print driver architecture reduces end-user training and deployment.

For greater printer and data control, the standard Department ID and User ID security features limit access to authorized users via pass codes, control cards or card readers. The models also feature standard embedded support for Canon's uniFLOW 5.0 output management solution and user authentication for send. Additionally, the devices do not use an HDD, so users do not have to worry about wiping the hard drive at the end of their lease. Color may be controlled with usage ceilings for color/black & white copies per Department ID and the Serverless Secure Print+ option holds the print data on the user's desktop until they have been authenticated at the device.

Further allowing users to control costs and decrease their environmental impact, Canon's RAPID Fusing Technology helps reduce power use, as the Color imageRUNNER C1030 Series of models consumes just 1 watt of electricity in Sleep mode. In addition, standard support for duplex and N-up printing enables users to save on their total cost of ownership.
