Compact Designs Streamline Communications and Business Processes
TRUMBULL, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2006--Oce Imagistics Inc. (NASDAQ:OCENY) introduced today the Oce Imagistics fx2080 and sx1480 compact MFPs to help manage critical document-based information workflows and provide advanced, but easy to use, solutions to streamline communications and business processes. The MFPs allow users to work faster, smarter and easier right from their desktop. At 20 ppm, the fx2080 integrates copying, fax, network printing and network scanning. The sx1480, a 14 ppm fax MFP, targeted to fax intensive environments, also provides convenience copying, printing and color scanning. Consolidating faxing, network printing, copying and scanning, the fx2080 is one of the first desktop multifunction devices in its class to offer a Touch Screen Operator Panel, providing a new level of ease of use, allowing customers to program "one-touch" soft keys to create customized workflows to steer documents through corporate networks, e-mail servers and digital communication lines. With QWERTY keyboard input and LDAP support, looking up fax numbers and e-mail addresses is fast and easy.
"The fx2080 redefines the small MFP in ease of use and network functionality," said John Reilly, vice president, marketing at Oce Imagistics Inc. "Through standard advanced network functions, such as printing, internet fax, scanning and document archiving abilities, the fx2080 meets the need for a secure, communications device for dependable document distribution. You simply don't find this kind of feature-rich content and functionality in desktop devices of this size, and the companion product, the sx1480 continues to provide state of the art fax technology to our customers that still rely on fax communications," continued Reilly. "With the fx2080's optional network capability, it can expand to handle the advanced network communications our customers are moving to, such as internet fax and scan to e-mail. The fx2080 and sx1480 reinforce our commitment to giving customers MFP technology that reduces costs and improves productivity."
Advanced Networking Streamlines Communications
The fx2080 touch screen operator panel can be customized with soft keys and macros to handle copy, fax or scan jobs, easily accomplishing complex workflows. With standard GDI and PCL printing capability and a USB and Ethernet connection, the power of the fx2080 comes from the standard network capability enabling its use as a convenient small workgroup network printer and a powerful network scanning solution. The fx2080 easily attaches to the network through DHCP and supports TWAIN scanning for easy capture of documents into popular computer applications. Supporting scan to e-mail, scan to network folders, and scan to FTP, the fx2080 will become the document capture and distribution center of the office. Users can browse network folders and select a document to attach to a fax or e-mail transmission right from the touch screen. Advanced archiving features can capture and forward incoming and outgoing transmissions and documents to other fax machines, e-mail addresses or directly to network folders.
