Océ announces fastest digital MICR printing system
Océ boosts MICR printing speed of its full-color inkjet flagship JetStream 3000 MICR to 505 feet per minute (154 m/min)
Sep 13, 2011 Venlo, Netherlands, 13 September 2011 – Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announces the debut of the fastest full-color inkjet MICR printer – the Océ JetStream® 3000 MICR – with a unique combination of CMYK printing at 656 feet/minute (200m/min) that translates to 2,856 letter (2,700 A4) images per minute and integrated Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) capability at print speeds up to 505 feet/min (154 m/min), which translates to 2,205 letter (2,080 A4) images per minute.
The Océ JetStream family is the first to integrate MICR functionality into a full-color production inkjet engine that supports both high-volume color inkjet printing and MICR applications on a single platform. As a result, print professionals can produce convenience and full-color checks with complete reliability, security and error recovery in one pass on one system, creating an unmatched competitive and productivity advantage. Flawless MICR output is essential in production environments that print transactional, insurance, direct mail, TransPromo documents and other applications involving check images. Océ has been a leader in delivering MICR solutions on both continuous feed and cut-sheet products for many years. In response to the need of its customers, Océ directly integrated MICR capabilities in its high-speed inkjet systems. This innovative Océ technology won the 2009 Innovator of the Year Award from Xplor International.
New Levels of Versatility and Upgradeability
The Océ JetStream family covers the high-speed inkjet segment with a focus on full-color duplex printing and speeds from 1,074 up to 3,220 letter (1,010 to up to 3,030 A4) images per minute on 20.5” and 30” wide paper webs. The Océ JetStream platform, with its Océ DigiDot inkjet technology, SRA MP Controller architecture and offset-based paper transport offers a clear growth path in three series (Compact, Dual, Wide) with seven models, MICR being supported by the Compact and Dual series.
“I’m excited that Océ is once again taking the lead in MICR inkjet printing. With the astonishing speed of 505 fpm in MICR, the JetStream 3000 MICR version sets a new benchmark. Only three months after the introduction of the high speed full-color models JetStream 1400 and JetStream 3000 Océ once again underlines it´s leading position in full-color continuous feed printing by continuously extending our product lines to enable our customer an even more efficient production.“” notes Crit Driessen, Vice President Marketing & Strategy, Océ Production Printing.
The new JetStream 3000 MICR will be available for first customer projects in Q4 2011.
Océ JetStream Systems with integrated MICR Printing
The groundbreaking high-speed Océ JetStream full-color, inkjet product family has redefined productivity and quality standards for ultra-high-volume production printing. The Océ JetStream system with integrated MICR expands on the basic four-color process, which uses four inkjet print heads, by adding a fifth row of print heads to the system’s base engine. The result is an elegant implementation of high-speed inkjet color with a MICR printing capability, available across all models in the Océ JetStream family.
Customers can seamlessly print checks along with full-color documents with complete reliability, security and error recovery. Savings come from reduced overall equipment maintenance and streamlined vendor support. The integrated capability makes it easier for customers in terms of application design and implementation, for reduced development cycles and faster turnaround. From an environmental standpoint, the system uses less power requirement and takes up a smaller footprint than using multiple systems for full color and MICR output.
