The announcement marks the availability of an industry leading, print-and-scan solution with embedded support for compact and affordable A4 MFPs, with the newest releases of Ricoh Print & Copy Control™ (PCC) 4.2 for Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express and eCopy ShareScan 5.1. The Nuance software enables enterprises to have a common print and scan management platform for mixed-fleet environments, including A3 and A4 MFPs, utilizing the same user interface and benefiting from centralized deployment and management.
“Ricoh is dedicated to delivering solutions that maximize convenience and security with intuitive printing and scanning capabilities to the growing A4-class MFP market,” said Jay Dizzine, Vice President, Technology Marketing for Ricoh Americas Corporation. “Bringing Nuance’s world-class software to Ricoh MFPs provides our customers with secure print and scan solutions to automate and optimize their document processes.”
By using Equitrac and eCopy software, organizations can add significant value to their Ricoh MFP investments by controlling user access, tracking device usage and costs in detail, and providing seamless access to both print and scan activities at the MFP. Users can access Equitrac and eCopy features – such as user authentication, print management, and secure print and scanning – through a single MFP interface, including on Ricoh’s new A4 devices such as MP301 and MPC305.
“Organizations are looking to bring the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible multi-function printers into the workplace, and require software solutions compatible with existing fleets and adaptable to changing business needs,” said Michael Rich, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Nuance’s Document Imaging Division. “As a Ricoh Premier Partner, Nuance Document Imaging is committed to providing Ricoh customers the market-leading print management and scanning software they need to maximize productivity in their enterprises.”
eCopy ShareScan is the world’s best-selling document scanning and workflow solution for networked multifunction printers (MFPs) and scanners. Nuance recently released a new version of the software, which enhances the ease and flexibility of installing, deploying and using eCopy ShareScan for Nuance partners and customers. The new release includes improvements to Nuance’s market-leading OmniPage OCR technology for faster, more accurate conversion of documents from paper to digital. Paper can be converted with the highest level of accuracy into fully formatted Microsoft Word and Excel documents, as well as searchable PDF files.
Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express print management software provides organizations with control over output activity. By enforcing duplex printing rules, the software can often reduce total print volume in an organization by nearly 50 percent in the first year. With reductions of that magnitude, the software quickly pays for itself. The products also support greater mobility and reduce paper waste with Follow-You Printing®, which releases print jobs at any MFP and automatically deletes print jobs that are not picked up.
