Northport, NY and Frankfurt, Germany (PRWEB) April 02, 2014
HSA and Pentadoc AG announced today the launch of a new multi-client study to identify the market opportunities for using multi-functional peripherals (MFPs) in document management and ECM applications.
As the need for print declines, MFP manufacturers have faced a flat to declining market. Over the past 5 years the printer/copier manufacturers have seen the need to shift from print cost per page to focus on the value add available from integrating with document management solutions and potentially replacing or complementing traditional document scanners. The focus of this study is to understand the needs and costs associated with the integration of scanning and fax capabilities that facilitate document and data capture.
With MFP manufacturers embracing document solutions, the successful channel model now involves integrating hardware, software, supplies and service. In addition to expanding and educating the existing channel, MFP manufacturers have developed, partnered, and/or acquired capture software core competencies.
Subscribers to this research will gain an in-depth understanding of the key customer requirements and costs involved in extending the integration of MFPs into business processes and document management applications. This view will extend beyond the current utilization of using the MFP as a simple scanning device to mass utilization within a network of business process solutions.
Mike Spang, Vice President – Research, HSA stated, "We see the growth rate for the market for MFP capture to be higher than the capture market growth rate. There is a window of opportunity for the integration of MFPs into more complex business applications which we intend to uncover."
Maximilian Gantner, Head of Research, Pentadoc Radar, "Intelligent solutions for MFP capture integrated with systems for document management create a new business area for hardware vendors, particularly if the MFP capture directly initiates business processes within the organization."
This research will use a combination of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Geographic coverage will focus on North America and major European markets. The resulting analysis will identify key application and market segment opportunities for MFP capture, current barriers and unmet customer needs, customer perception of MFP vendor solutions, and the key decision criteria for utilization of MFP capture in business process applications.
In addition to gaining market insights into the hardware and software market regarding the different possibilities for integrated solutions with reference to customer needs and requirements, study sponsors will also get an understanding of brand and solution awareness as well as factors in the purchase decision making process.
There are opportunities for different level of sponsorship for this study. For more information on the Multi-Function Peripherals in Document Management Solutions multi-client study and how to participate, please contact HSA, inquiry@hsassocs.com or studien@pentadoc.com.
