New Océ VPconvert Conversion Software Helps Customers Overcome Data Barriers in Print Production Workflow
Customers gain flexibility to migrate proprietary print streams to
standards-based systems and workflow without modifying applications
December 7, 2009 – Trumbull, CT – Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announces Océ VPconvert software to help customers overcome data conversion barriers associated with proprietary print formats. This powerful, automated conversion tool processes Variable Data Intelligent PostScript Printware (VIPP) data, allowing it to run with Océ hardware and software workflow. Customers can route their legacy VIPP print applications to Océ systems without modification to take advantage of Océ reliability and versatility.
“With Océ connectivity products, customers can better manage the variety of data streams in their mixed printing environments. They can integrate Océ workflow and printing systems into Xerox® environments or replace Xerox equipment altogether. Users can migrate proprietary data streams to standard formats and gain more choices regarding their digital print production systems and applications. As a result, print service providers can expand business opportunities and gain more flexibility in their day-to-day business,” said Eric de Goeijen, Vice President, Marketing, Océ North America Production Printing Systems division.
Customers are no longer limited to a single workflow vendor, but can choose workflow options independent of the origin of the data stream. Users can directly print VIPP data streams without having to reprogram or rewrite the original VIPP application. As a result, customers who work with VIPP files no longer need to undertake expensive application redesign efforts to convert the files into another format. Print operations can still use their existing legacy workflow, while flexible output management lets them drive work to alternative printers better suited to the job. Océ VPconvert software is available for both high-volume continuous form production print environments and high-volume production cutsheet applications.
A Family of Connectivity Tools for Production Environments

The integrated Océ products are automated for maximum workflow performance, flexibility and efficiency. These tools are in use in hundreds of sites around the world.
For transactional production environments, Océ provides solutions for transforming and integrating LCDS data streams.
