By Sharp Electronics Corporation
MAHWAH, N.J., Oct. 9, 2012 — /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, today extended its MFP industry innovation leadership with the introduction of two mid-volume workgroup MFPs. The Sharp MX-2615N and MX-3115N full color, ledger-size multi-function document systems increase the company's portfolio of MFPs, providing a feature rich, strong value alternative for small and midsized workgroups. The new Sharp document systems feature a true multi-tasking controller, PCL®6 compatible network printing, color network scanning and an available online paper capacity of 3,100 sheets with Sharp's new 2,000 + 500-sheet tandem paper drawer.
"We are pleased to debut the two latest additions to the Sharp multi-function document system family, which offer our small and midsized customers a high-value, full color, feature rich document system," said Mike Marusic, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Solutions Group, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. "Our MFPs build on our strong legacy of industry innovations that include advanced security and Sharp OSA® Technology, among many others. We will continue to innovate and deliver the features and capabilities that help our dealers make our end-user customers more productive."
The MX-2615N and MX-3115N support the Sharp OSA development platform, enabling businesses to streamline document workflow and help enhance productivity with speed and efficiency. The flexible paper handling system feeds up to 110 lb. index through paper trays and up to 140 lb. index through the bypass tray. In addition, these new MFPs feature Sharp's industry leading security platform, including an "End of Lease" security feature. At the push of a button, this feature erases all personal and confidential information stored by the machine, essentially restoring the machine to virtually the same condition as when it first left the factory floor. This security platform provides businesses of any size with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that it's confidential and/or protected information is secure – even at trade in. Also standard is the "persistent security" mode, which leverages both 256 bit encryption as well as up to 7 times data overwrite protection to ensure that the customer's data is protected continuously, and not just at trade in.
Energy Efficiency The MX-2615N and MX-3115N feature Sharp's advanced micro-fine toner technology, which offers a lower consumption rate and produces less waste than conventional toners, resulting in longer replacement intervals. These models are also ENERGY STAR® qualified and offer two different energy-saving modes that can automatically reduce or shut off power at set intervals.
Productivity Sharp's industry-leading ImageSEND® technology enables one-touch distribution that centralizes document workflow to help save time. The new systems also feature copy/print speeds up to 31 pages per minute (in both color or black and white), and are the first in the series to offer a 2,000 + 500 sheet tandem paper drawer enabling a total on-line paper capacity of up to 3,100 sheets. With standard PCL®6 compatible printing language, available PostScript® compatible and XPS options, the MX-2615N and MX-3115N enable smaller workgroups to produce brilliant, high-quality color documents, as well as crisp monochrome documents.
