New hacking group targeting your customers
Researchers at Sysdig Cybersecurity issued report on new hacking group named “CrystalRay”
- has already successfully attacked over 1,500 organizations since February, 2024
- using open-source security tools to automate and streamline attack processes
- employ automated IP address scanning and vulnerability-checking services to identify potential targets
- once hackers gain initial access, they then conduct lateral movement attacks to uncover additional credentials, which are then sold on the dark web and used to deploy cryptomining operations
