FREMONT, Calif., May 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFII), is announcing a new EFI™ Fiery® digital front end (DFE) designed to drive the new RICOH Pro C9200/C9210 Graphic Arts Edition series of high end digital color production presses. Based on the latest Fiery FS300 Pro software, the Fiery Color Controller E-85 ensures unparalleled productivity, exceptional color and seamless workflow integration.
Fiery job processing technology ensures customers can maximize engine utilization and minimize downtime, resulting in higher production capacity and greater workflow efficiency. Plus, Fiery HyperRIP provides additional job processing flexibility by parallel processing of up to four print jobs simultaneously. And, a Rush RIP mode on the DFE opens up a fifth RIP to process rush jobs when all four main parallel processors are busy.
“Our customers have come to depend on the exceptional performance delivered by the combination of our award-winning presses and Fiery DFEs,” said John Fulena, vice president of the Commercial & Industrial Printing Business Group at Ricoh USA, Inc. “Our long-term and close collaboration with EFI in the development of DFEs optimized for use exclusively with Ricoh digital sheet-fed presses has been an important factor in the overall success of our digital printing portfolio. With this new Fiery DFE, we have continued this work, supporting the ever more functional and productive digital printing solutions our customer base is looking for.”
Workflow automation tools included with the Fiery DFE minimize repetitive tasks and reduce touch points. The free Fiery JobFlow™ Base software comes pre-installed, which automates job preparation steps in prepress workflows to produce ready-to-print files, increasing productivity and reducing costs. And, for customers who want to perform more advanced automation, including intelligent job routing and advanced scripting, it’s easy to upgrade to the paid version of Fiery JobFlow.
Customers can establish broader, business-wide workflow automation using the Fiery DFE to integrate their digital print operations with EFI management information systems, EFI Web-to-Print software, and other popular prepress workflows like Kodak™ PRINERGY™ with their latest Digital Job Ticket Editor integration, as well as Agfa Apogee® and Heidelberg® Prinect®. In addition to the built-in industry standard, and certified JDF connectivity, Fiery API enables print service providers to rapidly develop live, bidirectional integration with their homegrown software or web services for their unique workflow automation needs. The REST architectural style that has become standard for today’s web API allows easy development regardless of application or software platforms including web browser, Windows®, Mac®, Linux®, iOS®, Android®.
“Ricoh continues to invest in and grow its commercial and industrial print portfolio, and EFI is pleased to collaborate with them to deliver this high-value DFE which helps ensure customers’ expectations of quality and productivity are exceeded,” said John Henze, vice president, Fiery marketing, EFI. “In addition to high quality and fast throughput, productivity enhancers such as Fiery JobFlow automate labor-intensive tasks, and tight integration with key workflow solutions eliminate bottlenecks across the entire workflow.”
The new Fiery DFE is available from Ricoh USA and authorized Ricoh dealer partners. For more information about EFI Fiery Driven™ digital production printing, visit www.efi.com or contact 800-875-7117.
