The DR-C125 scanner features intuitive face-up feeding with top feeding and top eject in an upright design, resulting in a small operational footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained desktops or even mobile cart usage. It also includes a Full Auto mode, through which a single click adjusts multiple feature settings to easily deliver an optimal scanned image, perfect for inexperienced users or users with little time.
"The combination of small size and ease of use makes the DR-C125 document scanner the ideal choice for our customers looking for general purpose distributed scanning solutions," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "From financial offices to healthcare facilities, legal offices to government agencies, Canon's imageFORMULA technology is facilitating the simple and reliable distribution of information across their businesses."
The flexibility and high-quality images of the DR-C125 scanner make converting and capturing paper-based documents to digital format a paper-saving option for businesses. Delivering color, black-and-white and grayscale scan speeds of up to 25 pages-per-minute (ppm)1 / 50 images per minute (ipm), the DR-C125 scanner can scan both sides of a document in a single pass. It can reliably handle a wide variety of document types, including long documents up to 118" in length, for example, medical records such as electrocardiograms (EKGs). The scanner also features user-selectable paper paths for scanning items such as thick documents, plastic ID cards, embossed cards and driver licenses. For maximum image quality, the DR-C125 scanner includes image processing features such as Background Smoothing to improve legibility, Auto Resolution to automatically adjust the output resolution, Auto Color Detection, and Shadow Cropping, for high-quality results.
To help streamline workflow and improve overall productivity, the DR-C125 comes bundled with the new Canon CaptureOnTouch software, featuring a sleek redesigned GUI for improved usability. CaptureOnTouch enables users to configure repetitive scan jobs for quick and easy access. It can also improve collaboration by conveniently routing scanned images directly to cloud applications such as Evernote and Microsoft SharePoint. CaptureOnTouch can automatically convert scanned images into PDF/A format, as well as Microsoft Powerpoint format. The Canon DR-C125 scanner is also bundled with Windows ISIS/TWAIN drivers and a Mac TWAIN driver - industry-standard interfaces for seamlessly linking applications and scanners-for easy integration with third-party Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software.
The new imageFORMULA DR-C125 document scanner is available immediately through all authorized Canon resellers for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $495.
