Network-Ready Panasonic WorkioR Mfps Morph Into High-Volume Printing Systems With ONERIP Software
Integrating OneRIPR for Panasonic print server software transforms WORKiOR MFP digital systems into decentralized dynamos for high-speed distributed printing.
SECAUCUS, NJ The latest version of OneRIPR for Panasonic, enterprise print server software that converts WORKiOR multifunction products (MFP) into an intelligent network office printing system, is available for integration with the WORKiO DP-3510, DP-4510 and DP-6010 digital imaging systems.
Designed for workgroups of 20 or more, the WORKiO DP-3510, DP-4510 and DP-6010 can copy, print, scan and fax. These state-of-the-art document management systems can be directly connected to a LAN right out of the box via the built-in 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet interface (included).
Advanced Hi-Tech Corporation (AHT) of Torrance, CA, developed a server-based software exclusively for use with Panasonic s WORKiO MFPs. OneRIP for Panasonic is an alternative print controller that eliminates the need for an expensive, hardware-based, centralized solution. OneRIP for Panasonic installs easily on a WindowsR 2000 print server and does not require additional proprietary hardware.
The new print server software substantially enhances the productivity and versatility of the WORKiO MFPs, giving small- to medium-sized businesses the capability for decentralized, high-speed, on-demand printing using resources already in place. OneRIP for Panasonic is an efficient, cost-effective alternative to changing an entire printing environment. Here s how it works.
Implemented in tandem with the WORKiO DP-3510, DP-4510 or DP-6010, among other Panasonic copiers and MFPs, OneRIP for Panasonic enables the user to manage and print to multiple printers, even printers of various makes and models. Users can even spread their printing across those multiple devices to increase productivity and greatly reduce output time.
OneRIP for Panasonic simultaneously processes incoming jobs while other files are printing, and almost seamlessly links any combination of Panasonic black-and-white digital imaging systems, with speeds ranging from up to 35 ppm through up to 62 ppm. In fact, numerous workgroups can function as one and print more than 600 pages per minute.
"This latest version of OneRIP for Panasonic presents a range of exciting possibilities for workgroups that require high-speed, decentralized printing," said Rich Heckelmann, product development manager for Panasonic Digital Document Company. "Jobs can be distributed far more efficiently than ever before, and document life cycle is substantially enhanced." The net result for users, according to Heckelmann, is that workflow can be significantly improved with this total system solution for their print environment. He added that the print server can be expanded and upgraded so that printers, copiers and MFPs can be added to meet the ever-changing needs of the business.

IT managers will surely appreciate the way OneRIP for Panasonic integrates almost seamlessly into virtually any network environment and prints common file types. The print server software features Windows 2000 architecture, PCLR 6 and PostScriptR PDLs, drivers for WindowsR and MacintoshR , easy-to-use unified PCL and PS print drivers, built-in media server, auto loading drivers and IP printer addressing.
Users will appreciate OneRIP for Panasonic s intuitive user interface and intelligent features. These include the intuitive Job List, which displays jobs that are either printing or waiting, and Preview Mode, which allows jobs to be viewed before they are printed. Electronic Collation organizes documents for users who do not have an output sorter; and Priority Printing, a component of OneRIP for Panasonic s Queue Management, ensures that important documents are printed first.
OneRIP s advanced application tools include Printer Clustering to split copies or jobs, and Intelligent SchedulingT for automatic re-routing of jobs to the next available printer. Job or Page Splitting, a function that allows the user to select more than one printer for the same print job or print one large set split to multiple printers, is yet another important feature. Other highlights include:
· Load Balancing - disperses multiple jobs evenly across all printers on the network for balanced workload
· Scanning - scan documents from the MFP glass and save as digital files for later use (requires optional scan key)
· Variable Data Option - creates and prints customized documents
· Priority Printing to print jobs in a designated order
· Uniform operator-friendly interface - for each output device, regardless of the operating system
The new version of OneRIP for Panasonic is available for the WORKiO DP-3510,
DP-4510 and DP-6010 digital imaging systems and ranges in price between $2,095.00 and $3295.00 MSRP1 depending on the number of devices being added to the print cluster.
Panasonic, which has more than 50 years of experience in the document imaging business, has authored a "White Paper" on OneRIP that contains technical information including an in-depth look at the way in which the system operates.
