Kevin De Vorsey

Senior Electronic Records Policy Analyst

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)

November 14, 2024

On November 14th, the picturesque Safety Harbor Resort & Spa in Florida will become the epicenter of digital transformation as it hosts the highly anticipated TWAIN Direct Developers Day. This event is not just another conference—it’s a convergence of cutting-edge technology, innovation, and thought leadership, all under one roof.

We'd like to introduce our next in the lineup of featured speakers, Kevin De Vorsey of NARA. Kevin will be presenting in the morning general sessions as well as hosting a follow-on discussion in the Developers Day Business Track roundtable discussions. Kevin is Senior Electronic Records Policy Analyst in the Office of the Chief Records Officer at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). He is a member of the Records Management Policy and Standards Team that is responsible for developing electronic records management guidance and regulations for Federal Agencies.

In this exciting and informative presentation, Kevin will describe details and suggest technology vendor participation in creating solutions to assist with adherence of Memorandum M-19-21. Memorandum M-19-21, Transition to Electronic Records, issued jointly by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), established several requirements to move Federal agencies to a fully electronic environment.

NARA continues to work on products to help agencies, contractors, and vendors implement these digitization standards. They are also making it easier for agencies to acquire the services and solutions they need to manage their electronic records. They are continuing to work with GSA to identify services and solutions that support a transition to an all-digital government, including the Electronic Records Management Solutions (518210ERM) and Document Conversion Services (518210DC) categories on GSA's Consolidated Schedule.

Prior to joining NARA, Kevin was employed as the Digital Preservation Analyst in the National Digital Heritage Archive of the National Library of New Zealand and as a Systems Analyst at the American Museum of Natural History. He received an MLIS from the Pratt Institute in 2005. You don't want to miss his session!
