MELVILLE, N.Y. - September 26, 2018 - “Over the years, SGIA Expo has become the largest North American show for large format digital printing solutions,” says Sal Sheikh, vice president, Marketing, Large Format Solutions, Canon Solutions America. “Customers come to see and evaluate manufacturers’ offerings, and often sign orders on the spot.” Sheikh notes that Canon Solutions America has always done well in that respect at SGIA Expo – and hopes to achieve the same result at its successor, PRINTING United (Dallas, Texas, October 23-25, 2019).
Canon Solutions America, a steadfast supporter of print industry trade shows, sees the events as opportunities “to put more pages on Canon devices,” says Eric Hawkinson, vice president, Marketing, Production Print Solutions. He points out that the company is an “early adopter” and is also a sponsor of BRAND United, an initiative that aims to create a unified brand experience for brand owners, marketers, and other graphic media professionals at the PRINTING United Expo next year.
PRINTING United is a joint venture of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and NAPCO Media. It will carry on and expand the mission of SGIA Expo, the industry’s premier showcase for graphic and visual communications. Following SGIA’s final edition (Las Vegas, October 18-20, 2018), PRINTING United will present a new perspective on profiting in segments from garment to graphic, packaging to commercial, and industrial to in-plant.
Sheikh says that PRINTING United should give Canon Solutions America an appropriate venue for positioning itself as a leader in digital printing, particularly on the inkjet side. The company offers market-leading solutions both for wide-format applications and for commercial production, he notes.
According to Hawkinson, another attraction of PRINTING United for Canon Solutions America is its consistency with Canon U.S.A., Inc.’s “One Canon” strategy, denoting the company’s inclusive approach to developing integrated solutions for its diversified customer base.
Many of Canon’s commercial customers, he explains, want to broaden their business horizons with wide-format production: typical of the trend that PRINTING United calls “convergence” and has adopted as the theme of the event. The main mission of PRINTING United is helping graphic service providers discover how to open up their gamut of capabilities with technologies such as wide-format inkjet.
Hawkinson looks forward to Canon Solutions America achieving success with inkjet at PRINTING United. “Our goal is to help our customers grow their volume. We continue to work closely with them to drive our industry forward.”
