Has anyone ran into QuarkXPress 4.1? It is a program that some news papers use. I connected a MLP28N on their network and it is taking 35-45 seconds for the first print to come out. Just curious if anyone ever ran into this and if their was a way to make it faster

I deal with QuarkXpress every week, there's nothing inherent to the program that would make it print slowly.

Generally QuarkXpress is used with complex graphics, do you know the size of the file you are sending? It could just be that the file is very large with complex graphics.

If it isn't large, have you tried sending normal files to the printer from the same workstations? are they faster?

Thanks J. It was the size of the file. We are using the PS driver now and works great.
