mixed user codes and plotbase

I have a customer that uplugged their 2400 and plugged in the 3600 to the same plotbase, was able to have users use user codes for only embedded scan and copy, and not req for plotting. Not working on 3600. in user tools turns off user management and will plot without auth error. tries to disable user code requirements for plotting print PC control, but machine beeps no change made - possibly because no embedded print ctrl. is there service code setting?

There is a possiblity that the old 2400 has a scan/print sd and the 3600 doesn't

The User Code was not being sent over or was not authorized for print. Do a print to file and look at the .PRN file in Notepad. See if the user code line is in there with the code you wanted to send over. Otherwise, call tech. Supp. and get some help from us. This is entirely do-able.

well, I tried putting in a scanner sd card from another machine. That created and address book sc error. I reset in service mode and retyped in the names that were associated with the still existing user codes. then went into the user management and turned off the requirement for user codes when printing and the plotbase saw it and all is well. A little strange but fixed. Then I tried updating the plotbase to service pack 4 worked fine on this system fixed blank pages printing from some pdfs. but on another system, could not get it to work , software conflict. but that is for another posting.
