Minolta Formalizes Business Relationship with Rebus Technology, Inc.

RAMSEY, NJ-March 11, 2003- Having reached a formal agreement with Rebus Technology, Inc., Minolta Corporation's Business Products Group announced it will directly market and sell Rebus' Recollect Enterprise Product Suite, an electronic filing system solution.

A partnership with Rebus makes good strategic sense because it addresses the document handling inefficiencies frequently found in the workplace," said Bud Murphy, executive vice president and general manager, Minolta's Business Products Group. "By partnering with Rebus, Minolta can offer customers an end-to-end scanning, filing and printing system."

In addition, Rebus' patented Fuzzy Search technology is especially useful for searching through paper and fax-based documents, the very types of documents that Minolta's products generate, for misspelled or run-together words commonly created by Optical Character Recognition (OCR) processes," says Murphy.
The Recollect software works seamlessly with Minolta's digital printer/copiers, fax machines and imaging systems (MS6000, MS7000 and PS7000) equipment. Together they provide one-step filing of hard copy documents and one-step retrieval from a PC or over the network.
With its heritage is in the world of imaging, Minolta has focused on aspects of imaging such as the tools and methods for creating images and the creation of environments for the application of images. The strength of Minolta's digital printer/copiers and imaging systems' scanning capabilities has greatly expanded their functionality.
