Rockville, MD — July 28, 2015 — Contex, the world’s leader of wide format scanning and imaging solutions, today announces that Gill Reprographics Inc. installed Contex HD Ultra i4290s ScanStation solutions at six facilities in the Southwestern United States. The Contex ScanStations are providing an immediate ROI as Gill Reprographics has cut scanning time by one day throughout these locations. Selected for its precision and productivity, the all-in-one ScanStation solution boasts blazing fast scanning speeds, in color and monochrome, with unmatched image quality. Distinguishing capabilities include a CRI (Color Rendering Index) above 95% and a REimage feature that reduces document handling and rescanning. Due to the immediate success of the Contex ScanStation solutions at the Gill Reprographics facilities, the repro chain plans to roll out ScanStations to all its U.S. locations.
“The speed and quality of Contex scans are exceptional,” comments Wade Johnson, Branch Manager, Gill Reprographics. “The REimage feature lets us easily toggle between settings, without having to rescan documents, even after the hardcopies have been archived. This saves a tremendous amount of time with each project, which quickly adds up.”
“The Contex ScanStation solution is a perfect fit for Gill Reprographics. By reducing the amount of time they spend handling the wide format documents, they can complete projects in less time,” comments Steve Blanken, General Manager, Contex Americas. “This gives Gill Reprographics a tremendous boost to productivity and an advantage over the competition.”
At any given time, staffers at each of the Gill Reprographics locations can be tasked to scan up to 1000 documents a week, primarily for customers in the construction industry that either need to scan and print marked up blueprints or to scan-and-archive documents. The Contex ScanStation, a full featured solution for professional scanning and copying workflows, is ideal for high productivity environments like Gill Reprographics’. The scanning solution includes an exclusive feature, REimage, that provides Gill Reprographics with an unprecedented ability to go back to a scan’s raw data to capture specific content, eliminating the need to rescan documents.
The Contex ScanStation solution includes a full-featured, all-in-one controller with Intel Core i7 processor and multi-touch screen functionality. The solution boasts a multi-touch 21.5-inch display for a quick and intuitive way to operate the Contex wide format scanners. Users can also scan to their destination of choice via a 2 Gigabit Ethernet or USB2 and USB3 ports. The ScanStation controller features the Intel Core i7 3.2 GHz, 2GB DDR3 memory, 500GB HDD, 21.5-inch multi-touch screen, with Windows 7 embedded.
