– C752 cuts operating costs by up to 30 percent; can be upgraded to the X752e for MFP productivity –

Lexington, Ky., Oct. 20, 2003 – Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today unveiled the Lexmark C752, a high-performance color laser printer with innovative color-setting features, designed to be as popular with the CFO as the CIO. Lexmark also announced the X752e multifunction product (MFP), which consolidates high-performance printing, copying, faxing and scanning capabilities into a single, space-saving color laser device.

Both products target the growing demand for quick but affordable color output in the workplace. With the increasing demand for affordable color, Lexmark is competitively well positioned with its high-performance, affordable color laser offerings.

"The infusion of color in business documents can create a competitive edge for our customers," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. "Lexmark’s focus is to give our enterprise customers easy to use laser devices that provide vivid color printing at an affordable price."

The Lexmark C752 is designed to meet the demanding and wide-ranging printing needs of large and medium-sized businesses. The Lexmark C752 can print up to 20 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and color, and offers a nearly 30 percent operating cost advantage over its closest competitor.

High performance and affordability

With a street price of $1,999 and money-saving features such as "Proof Then Print," monochrome print lock and Lexmark ColorSaverä mode (which reduces color toner in images and graphics while preserving crisp text) – the Lexmark C752 is targeting both the CIO and the CFO. With a 600MHz processor, it can even outperform higher-speed-rated competitors*.

Versatility

The Lexmark C752’s functionality is nearly limitless. Among its peers in the market, the Lexmark C752 offers the widest media-handling range available – including challenging print media such as vinyl labels – and the largest optional input and output maximum-paper capacity. Additionally, the Lexmark C752 is the only laser printer in its class with an optional 3,000-sheet finisher and envelope feeder.

Quality, reliability and ease of use

The Lexmark C752 features true 1200dpi resolution, and with its Color Balance feature customers can customize their color palettes. The Lexmark C752’s reliability is a distinguishing characteristic: it is the only color laser printer in the industry rated for one million lifetime pages. Customers will appreciate its simple operating instructions, intuitive keypad and front-loading toner cartridges for "clean hands" operation.

Color laser MFP

Building from the award-winning heritage of Lexmark’s color laser printer and MFP solutions, the Lexmark X752e provides printing, copying, scanning and faxing in a single device. With a street price of $7,699, the X752e includes a 50-page automatic document feeder featuring a scanning speed of up to 23 ppm in monochrome and up to 14 ppm in color, a 33.6 Kbps fax, and a 10/100 Ethernet network connection.

The Lexmark X752e features the Lexmark e-Task interface, which can be customized to a business’s requirements specific to their industry. Through its simple to use, intuitive touch-screen and customized icons, customers can initiate their unique workflow processes with the touch of a finger.

The e-Task interface harnesses the power of Lexmark’s newly enhanced Lexmark Document Solutions Suite of offerings, enabling the Lexmark X752e to boost worker productivity with electronic document-routing capabilities that make traditionally paper-based processes significantly more efficient.
