I just landed a 130+K (equipment) deal on a large law firm here in NJ. One I've been working on for 4+ years. they have been a xerox house for over 10 years. 3 years ago they decided to give us a listen. But the interview ended and the door got shut in our face when they found out that we had no scanning capability on high volume systems. Xerox rolled them into 7 new systems all fully configured with printing and scanning. Myself as well as well as other reps continued losing deals on high volume systems to xerox and canon. while our ricoh support people would continue to question "why do you want to take a high production machine and slow it down by people scanning from it?". I even had one ricoh support person say "stop asking for it, because you'll never see it". Nevertheless we persisted and posted on the League, until somebody got the message. (Thanks Jimmy D). With the introdution of the 1060/1075 and then the 2090/2105, this time around we had something to talk about. But to make a long story short, we're replacing 7 systems with 16. Because scanning is such a central and critical part of their document management strategy, they decided they wanted mutifunction {print, scan & copy)systems in every workgroup throughout their 100+ employee organization. Additional solutions that we provided were GBC stream punch, and Bate stamping (thanks again Jimmy D, as well as Scan router pro. Wow! What a Christmas present! Thanks again Ricoh!
