Kyocera Mita America Expands Line of Full-Color Printing Solutions

The FS-C5020N and the FS-C5030N full color printers provide superior performance and professional color output at an affordable price.

Fairfield, New Jersey – April 13, 2005 – Kyocera Mita America, one of the world’s leading document imaging companies, today introduced the FS-C5020N and the FS-C5030N full color printers. These powerful solutions possess all the needs of a reliable workgroup printer, including speed, productivity, versatility, enhanced features, and quality output at an ultra low cost.

Businesses require fast and affordable printing solutions; the FS-C5020N and the FS-C5030N rise to the challenge delivering 17 pages per minute (ppm) and 26-ppm output in both color and monochrome, respectively. Both printers boast the lowest total cost of ownership in their class, providing an affordable solution to any organization’s needs. In addition, both devices have an outstanding 600 dpi multi-bit color image quality onto a variety of media and paper weights. The FS-C5020N and the FS-C5030N each have a standard 10/100Base TX Ethernet interface for seamless network integration.

“Today’s businesses need the flexibility and efficiency of affordable desktop printing without sacrificing quality,” said Rich Berberian, product manager, printer products, of Kyocera Mita America. “Our goal is to provide end-users with high performance, high quality, reliable products all with a low total cost of ownership. The FS-C5020N and the FS-C5030N provide all of that and more—they are fast and productive, with low acquisition costs and low output costs resulting in increased efficiency and an improved bottom-line.”

The FS-C5020N and FS-C5030N printers include a 500-sheet paper drawer and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. Both devices also have a standard print memory of 128MB (upgradeable to 1024MB via 100 Pin DDR DIMMs) and a standard Type 1 CF card slot. These full-color printers maintain Kyocera’s lowest industry total cost of ownership and commitment to reliability. The printers incorporate Kyocera’s ECOSYS printer technology, which allows toner to be replenished in the unit without disposal of the print drum. This not only cuts down the amount of waste, but also reduces toner replacement costs by two thirds compared to other printers. By utilizing the ECOSYS technology, a user can typically recoup a printer’s purchase price in one year or less.

Kyocera Mita America Raises the Bar for Productivity-Enhancing MFPs with Introduction of Two New Devices

The KM- 8030 and the KM-6030 provide superior performance and mark a segment five industry first with a standard 200 sheet, dual scan document processor.

Fairfield, New Jersey – April 13, 2005 - Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, today introduced the KM-8030 and the KM-6030 monochrome multi-functional products (MFPs.) These powerful document imaging solutions have been designed to meet the needs of the most demanding enterprise and complement Kyocera’s existing line of cost-effective MFPs. The KM-8030 and KM-6030 provide exceptional printing, scanning and copying features that allow users to focus on the task at hand instead of the process.

Document processing requires fast solutions; the KM-8030 and KM-6030 rise to the challenge delivering 80 pages per minute (ppm) and 60 ppm output, respectively. Both MFPs reveal a segment five industry first by including a standard 200 sheet dual scan document processor. This enhanced feature allows for larger quantities of originals to be scanned from the same batch. The dual scan processor reads double-sided pages in a single pass, improving speed and productivity. As crisp, clear imaging is at the heart of Kyocera’s products, both MFPs have the option of selecting from professional quality print output: 600 x 600 dpi, fast 1200 mode, and 1800 x 600 dpi interpolated resolution via Kyocera Image Refinement (KIR). The KM-8030 and KM-6030 also offers 300 x 300 dpi for toner-saving quick printing of e-mail and internal communications.

“In today’s fast-paced business environment, organizations demand document imaging solutions that simplify their day-to-day activities, while supporting IT strategies of efficiency and network integration,” said Bill Cassidy, Product Marketing Manager, Monochrome MFPs, of Kyocera Mita America. “Kyocera advanced utilities software solutions support organizations’ workflow, by assisting network administrators in better managing document flow and providing users with high performance, reliable products at a low total cost of ownership. In this special segment, document processing requires exceptional performance in a “real-world” environment while delivering quality and value to workgroups of all sizes. The KM-8030 and KM-6030 respond with power and flexibility that is second to none, providing results users can count on.”

Both MFPs offer an optional document capture workflow solution called KYOcapture. This is an open-architecture middleware, which seamlessly integrates with existing or new document management systems. KYOcapture works as a portal through which documents can travel, allowing the capture and distribution of paper-based documents to multiple locations.

The KM-8030 and KM-6030 help to optimize businesses and IT by boosting productivity and streamlining hardware investments. These MFPs utilize long-life consumables for lower operating costs and provides reliability for maximum uptime.
