KYOCERA Document Solutions America has announced the introduction of DocuWare Connector, a business application that allows any HyPAS-enabled or capable Kyocera MFP to serve as a portal to the DocuWare enterprise content management system.
The application features numerous technical advances over the industry's other, earlier-generation connectors, including on-demand printing, intelligent file-size recognition, streamlined installation, card authentication and more. Kyocera's DocuWare Connector is the first application to support the DocuWare Cloud platform, which now represents approximately 15 to 20 percent of DocuWare's U.S. installations.
Kyocera's DocuWare Connector is designed to simplify complex document management processes. In a single step, users can use their Kyocera MFPs to scan documents directly to — and retrieve documents directly from — any folder within the company's DocuWare system, including personal Web baskets.
When indexing a document, users instantly see recently used index dialogs, minimizing processing time for common workflows. In addition, through single sign-on capability, users can log into a secured Kyocera HyPAS-enabled MFP and Kyocera's DocuWare Connector with one swipe of their registered proximity card.
"Our DocuWare Connector was engineered to provide the most efficient user experience in the industry through all aspects of the document's life cycle," said Doug Cole, director of product marketing, KYOCERA Document Solutions America.
"It is no surprise that Kyocera, a well-known worldwide brand making many great products in the electronics industry, has developed leading-edge technology to merge DocuWare with their innovative MFP products," said Steve Behm, vice president of sales, DocuWare. "With a HyPAS-enabled Kyocera MFP we can now successfully connect to DocuWare with bi-directional capabilities. This is especially important that not only can we scan and store documents, but we can now retrieve and print documents, even from the DocuWare Cloud offerings, which is both unique and very exciting for us."
DocuWare Connector is available through authorized Kyocera dealers at the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,695 for one license.
In other news, KYOCERA Document Solutions America has announced the release of AccuSender powered by Biscom, a scalable, flexible and secure way to capture and distribute files up to 100GB.
For organizations across many vertical markets, electronic file sharing is an essential part of day-to-day business. However, many servers have email size restrictions, making distribution of large files difficult, time-consuming and costly. Companies have devised a wide variety of non-standard solutions; many have implemented third-party solutions that encrypt files in transit, but fail to protect them while at rest in the cloud or on the server.
AccuSender powered by Biscom protects files at all times. The highly secure SSL-encrypted transfer of scanned documents safeguards confidential information in transit, while Biscom's government FIPS-certified 256-bit encryption protects files at rest in the cloud or on the company's server.
"Within existing Biscom secure file transfer environments, the addition of Kyocera's AccuSender application further enhances their return on investment," said Michael Paris, solutions marketing manager, KYOCERA Document Solutions America. "And for those highly regulated industries looking for a new file transfer solution, AccuSender powered by Biscom can save valuable time and money."
"The risk of compromising confidential data has never been greater," said Charles Magliato, vice president of channel development, Biscom. "AccuSender powered by Biscom offers a new level of security for delivery of scanned documents and a better way to deliver large documents from Kyocera MFPs."
AccuSender powered by Biscom is ideal for the legal, financial, health-care and government sectors — all of which frequently share large files and require the highest level of security. The application has numerous other benefits: bar-code routing sheets to streamline workflows; flexible send options; document stamping, including Bates stamping; convenient pre-sets; delivery confirmation; and more.
"It's a new level of secure file-sharing and another example of how Kyocera business applications and its device technology can be used to meet today's evolving document management needs," Paris said.
"Biscom is very excited to be partnering with KYOCERA Document Solutions America," Magliato said. "This partnership enables KYOCERA dealers to offer their customers advanced secure file transfer from Biscom integrated with KYOCERA's line of multifunctional devices."
AccuSender powered by Biscom is available through authorized Kyocera dealers at an MSRP of $286 for one license.
