Kyocera Mita plans to launch a new program for resellers to help sell managed print services (MPS).
Managing director, David Finn, said partners will have access to the printer vendor’s field support team.
“The only caveat will be that it’s got be within our service capability, which is about 75km radius from the GPO in every state,” he said. “We’re giving the channel a chance to sell MPS and have it fully backed and supported by us.”
Finn said when a machine needs maintenance or repairs, Kyocera support staff can help resellers cover it.
Resellers will be able to register for the KyoPartnerMPS program soon.
It will give resellers the chance to sell 3 or 4 years, onsite service. Currently, customers only get a two-year standard warranty on products.
“It’s a business management tool we’re developing for them,” he said. “Resellers can set their own financing arrangement with customers.”
A dedicated website has been set up for the program, www.kyoceramita.com.au/kyopartnersMPS, which provides a cost-per-page calculator that will help resellers determine how much they can charge customers and information on eligible MPS products.
Besides charging customers per page, resellers can also choose to bundle the services with toner and maintenance kits in their customer offer.
“A lot of resellers don’t understand what they can charge customers per page, and the website will do it for them,” he said.
Finn said the program is not locked to any particular Kyocera distributor, which includes Ingram Micro, Altech, Alloys, BMS Technology, J Mills Distribution, XiT and Dynamic Supplies.
