Kyocera cancelled by State of New Jersey?
Kyocera (aka Kyoto Ceramic Co. of Japan) announced it has sued the New Jersey Department of Treasury for blacklisting Kyocera from winning state of New Jersey related government contracts
- New Jersey had passed a new law that prohibits state agencies from buying from companies that operate a subsidiary in Russia, due to Russia’s war with Ukraine.
- Kyocera, which apparently operates a subsidiary in Moscow, Russia, is claiming that this new law is unconstitutional
- Kyocera currently has a “Master Blanket Purchase Order” contract with State of New Jersey, allowing users of the state contract to purchase and lease Kyocera MFPs
- Contract set to expire 8/11/2023, after being extended 8 times
- Other states may follow New Jersey’ example, according to the lawsuit
