Konica Minolta has launched the new Bizhub Press C70hc in Australia and has already received interest from commercial printers as well as marketing and creative agencies.

The machine uses Konica's High Chroma toner to achieve colour closer to RGB than standard toner, which the manufacturer hopes will win over graphic designers and advertising agencies.

Grant Thomas, Konica Minolta's product manager production printing group, told ProPrint that the company was putting quotes together for a variety of potential customers.

"The new Bizhub Press C70hc's range of capabilities makes it the perfect solution for value-added printing applications," he said.

"High Chroma toner produces vivid and natural colours, pioneering a new level of quality in many segments of production printing."

He added the machine produces colours accurate to a calibrated monitor and the High Chroma toner provided much higher saturation than what is possible with standard CMYK.

The C70hc offers a 1,200x1,200dpi, 8-bit resolution and can run at up to 71 A4 pages per minute.
