Supplier In Wichita, Kansas Region
RAMSEY, N.J. - April 11, 2005 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced that it has acquired Business Systems, Inc. (BSI) and its affiliate, BTW Services, Inc. (BTW), the largest suppliers of digital office equipment in the Wichita, Kansas area. The companies, focused on providing and supporting network services and document management and workflow analysis, are transitioning from Canon to Konica Minolta products. Founded in 1970, BSI and BTW service many of the state's largest organizations in the aircraft, legal and manufacturing industries.
Konica Minolta purchased BSI and BTW from owners Alan and Roberta Whetzel, longtime residents and respected business people of the Wichita community. Alan will continue to provide consultation and assistance in the growth and success of the companies, and 28-year veteran and general manager, Steve Finley, will oversee the day-to-day operations. The companies have a combined 43 employees, with an average tenure of over 15 years.
"To remain a world-class leader in the industry, we are continually seeking opportunities to increase our market share across all regions," said Jun Haraguchi, president and CEO, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "BSI and BTW share Konica Minolta's vision and commitment to deliver quality, excellence and ongoing technological leadership to its customers, and are well established in their market."
"Our customers and employees will benefit immensely from this acquisition," said Steve Finley, general manager, BSI and BTW. "As a global industry leader, Konica Minolta will provide BSI and BTW access to valuable resources and assets, while broadening our presence. This will allow us to be more competitive and serve our customers better."
