ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 16—The new KODAK i1405 Scanner delivers new levels of productivity for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) digitizing volumes of paper documents and records. The compact i1405 desktop model offers a versatile range of capture capabilities, and helps SMBs focus on increasing productivity to improve critical business processes.
“The sheer amount of paper handled by SMBs on a daily basis is tremendous, particularly for those businesses with limited resources for document management,” said Tony Barbeau, General Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “The KODAK i1405 Scanner is a powerful, duplex scanner, designed to help any type of user, from the non-IT professional to an administrative team, implement digitally-powered information management at a price point designed to please and provide quick return on investment.”
With the transition towards a digital workflow, many SMBs look for ways to increase their overall organizational efficiency. The i1405 provides users with a flexible, reliable document capture platform for managing critical records like HR forms, auditing records, and legal documents. The i1405 Scanner generates greater productivity, with a daily volume of up to 9,000 pages per day at 45 pages per minutes and 200 dots per inch (dpi) quality (with available optical resolutions of 600 dpi). Flexible paper handling capabilities include support for small plastic cards, delicate onionskin paper and lengthy, non-conventional print-outs.
Users that need to share and manage their essential information across multiple locations can benefit from the one-click output destination and image-enhancing features of the i1405. Kodak’s Smart Touch Feature helps users easily scan to email, file, and other desktop locations. An intuitive interface with USB 2.0 connectivity also provides the simple transfer of images.
Accuracy of data in scanned images, another important component of business process management, is achieved through the image-enhancement capabilities of the i1405. The scanner supports Kodak’s Perfect Page Image Processing Technology, which effectively streamlines the smoothing, accuracy and detection of color. The i1405 also comes bundled with KODAK Capture Desktop Software, TWAIN, ISIS, SANE, and WINDOWS Imaging Architecture Drivers.
The introduction of the KODAK i1405 Scanner, at a U.S. list price of $3,995, strengthens the entry-level offering of the award-winning KODAK i1400 Series Scanners. In addition to the i1405 announcement, the new U.S. list prices for the KODAK i1400 Series Scanners family include: i1420 at $4,995 and the i1440 at $5,995, respectively.
