ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Kodak and Bolt Document Management announce the BOLT Direct KLF Network Attached Scanner, an “out of the box” solution for LASERFICHE Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems. Based on the KODAK Scan Station 520EX networked scanner, the solution is more simple and cost-effective than utilizing multifunction printers (MFPs) for shared network attached scanning. It allows users to log in, scan, name, route and index paper documents directly into LASERFICHE ECM Systems in real time.
“Using multifunction copiers and printers for scanning to a LASERFICHE System requires additional layers of software and/or hardware that can be complicated, clunky and expensive. By comparison, the BOLT Direct KLF Solution is simple to install, easy to use, and all around a more practical and affordable way to provide system users with shared document scanning,” said Jeff Nelson, Vice President, Bolt Document Management, a Laserfiche Professional Developer Partner. “Kodak’s networked document scanner technology provided us with a powerful, reliable, high-quality scanning platform that is ideal to host our easy-to-use interface for LASERFICHE ECM Systems.”
BOLT Direct KLF network integration is preconfigured on the Scan Station 520EX networked scanner. It interfaces directly with the LASERFICHE Repository Server and requires no additional hardware or software. Users simply attach it to their network and are immediately ready to scan. The unit also features Kodak’s office productivity application for scanning to e-mail, to fax, to file, and more, making it a complete office document scanning solution. IT and system administrators benefit from the BOLT Direct KLF System’s IT-based solution that is easy to deploy, train and support with minimal setup time and costs. The Scan Station’s touchscreen display and compact keyboard provide users with an accessible and easy-to-use interface in a small desktop footprint.
"We worked closely with Bolt to create a unified document capture solution for LASERFICHE ECM Systems,” said Brian Bagan, Kodak’s Enterprise Solutions Manager for Document Imaging. “Bolt’s extensive experience with Laserfiche enabled us to take full advantage of the functionality we built into the Scan Station 520EX networked scanner.”
The initial and long-term costs of the BOLT Direct KLF Solution are significantly less than MFP and shared scanning solutions. Unlike MFPs, BOLT Direct KLF is independent of copier vendor agreements, maintenance contracts and updates. It supports LASERFICHE Software, version 8 and later including LASERFICHE AVANTE, RIO, TEAM and UNITED Systems and includes a factory-backed advanced unit replacement (AUR) warranty.
The BOLT Direct KLF Solution is distributed by Bolt, an Indiana-based professional developer, to Laserfiche’s users and resellers. More information about the BOLT Direct KLF Solution is available at www.boltdirect.com.
