KIP reps push the 100% toner yield feature on the 6000, which means no waste bottle. Does this mean their operational cost is much lower than Ricohs, or is their toner more expensive, and things are actually pretty equal?

No waste bottle means less work for the technician...it really means next to nothing for the end-user. The estimated yield is the estimated yield whether there is toner recycling going on or not. Ultimately it does mean that KIP has to supply less toner than they would have otherwise but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is less expensive to operate than the Ricoh.
Just another note, toner recycling has been tried by a lot of manufacturers over the years. I think most techs will agree that machines that recycle the toner will have more problems with toner contaminaton. Coming from paper dust, lint and other foriegn objects that come in contact with the drum and the cleaning blade.
