The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet signed a contract with Lynn Imaging to use its bid management software for upcoming construction project lettings. Beginning August 1, Lynn Imaging will expand its existing offerings to the KYTC and provide free downloadable plan and specification files to contractors giving them greater access to information. William Gulick, Director of the Division of Highway Design stated that “the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is very pleased to have Lynn Imaging under a new contract to distribute our highway construction plans. This new contract is intended to better position KYTC to publish electronic plans and associated data to the contracting community.”
Letting details are available on the planroom site (http://www.kytcplanroom.com) and as they are released, the site is updated giving contractors immediate access to information. In addition, contractors can view the dashboards 30-day Addenda Watch – where any addendum released in the past 30 days is listed helping contractors to make sure they have all the information needed for each project. Mr. Gulick noted that “making more sophisticated information available to a wider range of potential contractors and suppliers will help move our transportation construction program into the 21st century. Contractors are working smarter and we need to take advantage of that by making smarter plans available to them. Lynn Imaging is uniquely positioned with the knowledge and resources to help us maximize the benefits of these smart technologies to improve the Commonwealth’s transportation systems.”
In conjunction with this contract, Lynn Imaging is offering full color, wide-format printer rentals to all registered users of the KYTC planroom members at a reduced rate of $74.99 per month, and .40 per SF printed in their office. The monthly fee covers the full color, wide-format printer installed at their office, any service and maintenance of the printer as well as the ink and paper used in the printing of letting documents. This helps speed the delivery of information to contractors who prefer to work with hard copies.
