ABCCL Final Regular Season Standings
Middletown Monarchs 23-8-2 (+ 2 dates Clippers/Tides) = 48 Points
Manchester Yankees 23-10-0 (+ 2 dates Clippers) = 46 Points
Toms River Black Sox 21-11-3 = 45 Points
Freehold Clippers 15-16-1 (+ 3 dates Monarchs/Yankees)= 31 Points
Ocean Giants 14-16-2 (+3 dates Starz) = 30 Points
Protocall Starz 12-19-1 (+3 dates Giants) = 25 Points
Jersey Shore Tides 9-22-3 (+ 1 date Monarchs) = 21 Points
Central Jersey Cougars 10-25-0 = 20 Points
Please note the Central Jersey Cougars have advised tonight that 4 of their remaining out-of-state players checked out of Monmouth today and the last two have notified MU that they plan to leave tomorrow. Therefore, the only team that the Cougars will be able to field for the playoffs will be made up of additional incoming freshman and other players who have not played the required 5 games prior to our required July 15 date.
In view of this I suggest we give the first place Monarchs a bye or the option to play the Cougars if they so desire. If the Monarchs opt not to play, I will assign the # 4 Clippers vs # 5 Giants round one games to be played at Brookdale CC since the Clippers also advised today that they will not have field availability at either of their home locations due to youth league regionals/etc.
The #2 Yankees will play the # 7 Tides at Manchester HS.
The # 3 Black Sox will play the # 6 Starz at either Central HS or OCC (Bill please advise). If either of these fields are not available the Starz have advised that they should have their field available from Thursday-Saturday if needed.
