Bolingbrook, IL — It’s official — Ricoh is coming to Bolingbrook.
During tonight’s Village Board meeting, representatives from Ricoh — the copy machine giant — confirmed it will consolidate distribution sites from 12 neighboring states into one 260,000-square-foot building at 254 International Boulevard in the coming months.
“We expect to bring in two distribution centers from suburban Chicago by January, then begin bringing in sites from other states,” said John Stacy, Ricoh representative.
Stacy also said the company has been building out the site for the past few months.
The Village Board unanimously approved a request for a variance allowing 8-foot chain link fences at the site.
Claar said he had not talked publicly recently about the company’s plans because the deal had been held up for awhile due to “glitches”, Claar said.
“We’ve had some businesses come here recently, but this one is clearly to be highlighted,” Claar said. “This is really exciting news because it is much more than just a distribution center.”
Officials said the new distribution center will include an assembly area, and will likely employ about 200 workers. The consolidation will provide for about 140 new jobs, Stacy said.
