istyle mfps and mobile printing

Art, there is a firmware upgrade for the Ricohs. This applies to any Ricoh device with the new iStyle or the new homepage. I don't think this applies to the SP5200 because it uses the old architecture. The firmware should be available through the Tech site.

Can you explain how this works? Will this work with any smartphone?

It is supposed to be Airprint compatible and support printing of image files from any mobile device. The current compatible devices are the MP4002/5002, MP C3002-C5502, MP C305 & MP301spf. Does anyone know if this has been released? Our DSS initially said it would be available in July but later stated it could end up being August.

I questioned our rep on this today and this will only work when you are at the office or within your network range. Looks like I have to present Hotspot and will also tell the customer about email to print. I was also told that the MFP needs the PS option and PDF Direct for the Email2print feature, it is only good for PDF's and will only print the first attachment.

Anyone else using something else?

ALL Ipad, Iphone printing requires either PS od a Direct Print Kit.
