Oct. 12--Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions, has unveiled its new imageFORMULA ScanFront 330, a compact and intuitive network scanner for ad-hoc and transactional data capture, allowing partners to create customized applications and connectivity to back-end systems.
Succeeding Canon's market leading imageFORMULA ScanFront 300 and 300P models, the ScanFront 330's web-based software development kit (SDK) makes it easier for solution providers, IT integrators and developers to create connected "capture apps."
In "web application mode," the imageFORMULA ScanFront 330 directly connects to the customer's server, where a personalized application developed by a Canon partner defines how the document will be processed further.
This offers partners versatile opportunities to transform the document sharing and processing workflows of their customers, especially in corporate headquarters, decentralized offices and customer service points.
Developers can also make full use of the scanner's capability of transferring metadata in CSV or XML format with the image file when creating new and streamlined ways of integrating data into existing document management processes.Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director, Canon Middle East, said: "The way we work is evolving at a tremendous pace, and in the future we will see people and information intertwined even more. Network scanners play a crucial part in establishing this level of connectivity, as they bring teams closer together and help to reduce cost and improve customer service."
The productive imageFORMULA ScanFront 330 scans up to 60ipm and includes a newly-designed feed roller mechanism, which increases the feeding and separation reliability when scanning batches of mixed documents. In addition, it comes with an ultrasonic double feed detection sensor to help prevent any important documents not being captured.
